How to initialise administrator notice via mail was created by alberlin
Hi,
I wonder how to initialise a notification for the admin when a new message has been posted into the gb.
In the description it says:
Unfortunately, I cannot find the "php.ini" . Do I have to create one by myself and load it on the server?
Thanks in advance,
Alex

In the description it says:
Code:
"Notifying the Administrator:
----------------------------
You can have the script send you a notification through email when a new entry has been
added to your guestbook. Open "config.php" file and change the appropriate setting for it.
WARNING: You will have to have the SMTP settings in php.ini file of your server configured
to use this feature.
Unfortunately, I cannot find the "php.ini" . Do I have to create one by myself and load it on the server?
Thanks in advance,
Alex

Hello Alberlin,
All you need to do is to change the Admin notification setting from "0" to "1" in the config.php file. Most webhosts already have the mail function enabled.

Hello Pete,
thanks for the immediate reaction.
Unfortunately:
Yes, i did change the setting to "1" - still not receiving a notification mail.
Any alternative now?

In that case you will have to contact your webhost to see why the PHP "mail()" function is not enabled for your webhosting account.
