Hello Norman,
WINDOWS INSTALLATION:
If you are installing the code on a Windows Server, make sure that your IIS User (IUSER_MACHINE or which ever else is the user for your IIS) has the following permissions. Make sure to check:
- Modify
- Read & Execute
- Read
- Write
To do that, simple browse to the file location, right click on the list.txt file and choose properties. Under the security tab, you will see the permissions section.
LINUX / UNIX / FreeBSD INSTALLATION:
Make sure to CHMOD 777, which basically means:
Owner: Allow Read - Write - Execute
Group: Allow Read - Write - Execute
Other: Allow Read - Write - Execute
The easiest way to do that is to do it through an FTP software. Simply connect to your ftp server, navigate to the guestbook directory, right-click on the list.txt file and choose "CHMOD" option. You will be given a pop-up screen containing 9 checkboxes. Check them all and hit ok to apply the changes.
That should be it. I hope this answers your question.
