Problems with login facility

On two sites where I installed the guestbook the login procedure doesn't work.

Remedy: remove the call to "login_check" in the files in the "admin"-subdirectory.

To protect the admin features it is sufficient to rename the admin subdirectory to anything else and keep the new subdirectory name secret.

They say the good die young. If it works the other way, too, I'm immortal.

Hello Peter,

renaming the admin directory is actually not secure. All a hacker would need to find it is a site scanner (which is available freely on the net).

I suggest either password protecting it using .htaccess password, or trouble shoot the existing login system.

I am also experiencing an inability to login to the admin function. It simply returns
the login screen again. The facility worked on a test domain I set up. Instead of
FTPing the files to an active domain I simply transferred the files over and
permissioned the files in the data folder. I tried resetting the passwords but
no luck.
